Aaro Kuismanen
Hello there, all guild members!
I’m Aaro Kuismanen, a second-year student majoring in Chemical Engineering and Processes, and I’m applying for the position of Treasurer for the 2026 board!
Prosessiteekkarit means a lot to me as a community. A great fuksi year and an active, enthusiastic guild have inspired me to get involved in volunteer work as well. So far, I’ve served as Kavitaatio’s sponsorship representative, association merchandise coordinator, and as an ISO tutor, through which I’ve learned a lot about teamwork and the importance of volunteering within the guild.
I believe my communication skills would be a great asset to the board. I don’t like leaving things unclear, so I’ll definitely be firing off questions when needed! I want to help create a positive and open atmosphere where everyone feels comfortable sharing ideas. I like to get things done properly, whether it’s handling invoices, organizing Kide.app events, or singing off-key at sitsis.
As Treasurer, I’ll make sure the guild’s finances stay in good shape while also developing our merchandise operations. I want every member to feel welcome to share new merch ideas and give feedback on what we currently have.
If you’ve got any questions, feel free to message me on telegram @Nappitaapero!
- The work of a treasurer is important, but sometimes very independent. How would you ensure that all the tasks (e.g. financial statement, paying bills) will be done in time?
- At the beginning of the year, separate budgets are created for the various committees of PT. How would you ensure that committees follow the budget?
The first step is to have a shared discussion with the committee about their budgets: why each budget is set at a certain level and why it’s important to stay within it. I believe that clear understanding of goals and mutual trust will lead to the best results. Regular but flexible check-ins with the committees are important. Quick reports and brief summaries are usually enough to keep everything on track, as long as communication works both ways. If sudden changes or extra expenses occur, I hope for open discussion about the situation as early as possible.
For example, I would keep close contact with the annual ball committee, since its budget is often large and dynamic. Frequent communication helps maintain financial control and avoid unpleasant surprises.
- Do you find areas for improvement in the position of treasurer or the finance of the guild? Why/Why not?
