I PT
1. Information about events in early 2021 – Updated 8.2.
The board decided on 8.2. that PT will follow the guidelines of the Regional State Administrative Agency about corona. For now, the association will not organize events that require gathering. This decision will be reviewed if needed.
2. PT Info Channel on Telegram
PT now has a separate Telegram channel for official announcements and news about the association – PT Info Channel! All the most important announcements and news about the association will be posted in the channel from now on, for example about events and the summary of the weekly newsletter sent by email. The switch over to the Info Channel will happen gradually so that the most important info will also be posted in the #PT-chat until the end of January 2021. The #PT-chat will remain as a chat for discussions between PT members.

3. The Winter Frolic is here form 15.2. to 21.2.
Winter is at its best and it’s time to enjoy it! Before the exam week it is good to enjoy yourself for a little, so Winter Frolic has arrived! The event is open to all PT’s members, and runs from Monday 15th to Sunday 21st. The challenges for the event are listed down below. You can complete the challenges by yourself or with a friend, and remember the current guidelines from the Finnish institute for Health and Welfare.
Document your achievements by photo or video, and send them to @prosessiteekkarit on Telegram! After completing three challenges you can buy yourself an AMAZING WinterOnnea -patch! Additionally, the fastest person to complete all the challenges will get a huge surprise prize! If you wish, you can also send the photos or videos to the #PT -channel for us all to enjoy.
If you don’t have all the required equipment for all the tasks, no worries! Only your imagination sets the limits!
WHAT: Winter fun!
WHERE: Be prepared to go outside, but also some fun at home!
WHEN: 15.2. – 21.2.
WHY: Because winter, yay!
CHALLENGES:
- Go sledging
- Go skiing
- Go downhill skiing
- Go skating
- Enjoy a traditional Shrove bun (laskiaispulla), extra point if you bake it yourself
- Drink hot chocolate with wool socks on (with or without whipped cream and Minttu)
- Make a snow sculpture
- Make snow angels
- Make a snow/ice lantern
4. Snow sculptures
It has been snowing a lot lately and the ground is screaming for people to make snow sculptures. Enthusiastic about this, editors of ProTeesi have decided to announce a snow sculpture competition! So make an optional snow sculpture, take a picture of it and send it with a small story (max 50 words) in telegram to @Torpedoboi 19.2. by 11:59 p.m. Best snow sculptures will be published in the first ProTeesi of the year. An authoritative jury will also decide who will win the competition and the winner will be announced in ProTeesi. By participating, fuksis can get themselves an article point!
5. PT’s Remote Event Survey 2021
AYY’s rental facilities are currently not in use. The association still wants to organise remote events and take the members’ wishes into account, so we encourage you to answer this survey and tell us your wishes! Applications for summer jobs have begun so a quick reminder that PT has their own LinkedIn site and group! LinkedIn is a great way to get contacts and network with your student colleagues. Open summer jobs from our field will be informed about in the group as well!

7. Board meetings in 2021
The board meetings are on Mondays at 8:10 and you are all welcome to follow! You can check scheduled meetings in the association’s event calendar.
In January board meetings are held in Zoom. The place for meetings in February is decided later. Meetings are held in Finnish.

9. Chemistry Guild 130th annual celebration: Substitutio is coming!
This is the year when the oldest and most beautiful guild in Otaniemi celebrates its’ 130th annual celebration on 20th of February. Due to the current situation and recent developments, we converted normal annual ball festives into remote celebrations, so: we hereby invite you to celebrate our guild in Substitutio 130!
Chemistry Guild’s beer tasting is live on Tuesday 16.2., and on Saturday 20.2. we gather to celebrate Substitutio via livestream. In addition to traditional festive speeches, you get to enjoy competitions and other entertainment via internet waves straight on your own screen!

10. CHEMIE COOKING SHOW 27.2. @Zoom 18.00
What happens when four IE:s clash spatulas? Does the saying “too many cooks spoil the broth” hold true? Which of the IE:s work best on sudden and surprising events? All of these questions will be answered in the great spectacle held after the exam week. Go shopping inspired by the shopping list and cook yourself, and why not also for a friend, a four-course Tex-Mex dinner! The event is open for everybody and will be held remotely by zoom. You only need a device to follow the stream, and the optional ingredients. The event will be held in finnish. ¡Salud!
11. Siantappo World Championship
The “World” Championships of Siantappo are here once again!
Siantappo is the traditional card game of Forest Products Guild, and every year the championships to determine the world’s best player are fiercely contested. The games will be played on the following platform: https://playingcards.io/
