I\u2019m Helmi, a third-year Prosessiteekkari majoring in Chemical Engineering and Processes.\u00a0 During the past year, I have being on the board as an IE together with Annika, and through that,\u00a0 I have had perhaps the most memorable year of my life. When I applied to become an IE, I\u00a0 talked about how much PT and all the events had given me, and how I wanted to give\u00a0 something back to the guild. The same theme is still relevant, and it is also why I am applying\u00a0 to be the former of the board. I feel that the year on the board, the committee, and all the new\u00a0 people and opportunities have given me things that I would like to make possible for others in\u00a0 the future as well.\u00a0<\/p>\n
I am energetic, enthusiastic, and outgoing by nature. I feel that I am at my best when I see\u00a0 everyone around me thriving. I would like to form a board where people appreciate one\u00a0 another and, because of that they want to work towards common goals. In my opinion, a good board consists of different kinds of personalities, and everyone feels comfortable bringing\u00a0 their own ideas and perspectives to the table. I am motivated by seeing people around me\u00a0 who are determined to get things done and willing to try something new. This is the kind of\u00a0 culture I would also like to help create within the board. I have heard the saying, \u201cTeekkaris do\u00a0 what they want, not what they can do,\u201d and I think this summarizes well how important\u00a0 motivation is when it comes to getting things done. I would like to be an approachable chair who motivates people to get things done but also knows how to switch off sometimes.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The themes I would like to focus on next year are balanced finances and spending, as well as\u00a0 smooth cooperation between the CHEM guilds. In the end, the direction the guild focuses on\u00a0 next year depends on the people involved and what matters to them. I want to give everyone the opportunity to come up with ideas and make them happen, rather than saying what\u00a0 should do next year. My responsibilities on the board this year have been less administrative,\u00a0 and if I were selected, I believe there would be a lot of new things for me to learn. This excites\u00a0 and scares me at the same time, but I am motivated to learn and ready to do the work to make\u00a0 sure Prosessiteekkarit is just as bright next year.\u00a0<\/p>\n
