Elle Husso
Hello!
I’m Elle, a second year PT member, majoring in chemistry & materials science. During the autumn I’ve been working as a responsibility BIG, which has been just amazing. I know I have a lot more to give to the association, which is why I’m applying to join PT board as a spokesperson for 2025!
I’ve been interested in board positions for a long time, and the spokesperson position is definitely the most interesting to me! I have been an avid reader of the weekly bulletins and mini-weeklies since the beginning of the my freshman year. Good information has been a big reason for my good participation during the freshman year; without it I would never have kept up with the activities of the association. That’s why I would like to be involved in making sure that everyone is informed about the activities of the association and no one is unwittingly left out! It would also be great to be able to possibly develop the marketing of the association through social media channels, which gave me a lot of confidence when I was filling in my own application and played a big part in my selection process!
I am an organised, social and very calm person. I like to schedule my everyday life a lot and I am often colour-coding my calendars and reminding friends about deadlines, event registrations and other things that need to be done. During the summer I got to produce information in the form of emails and slideshows in both Finnish and English, so I’m not looking for a job without some preparation!
What makes successful and effective communication possible? How can urgent information be brought to the attention of the entire association as quickly as possible?
Do you find something to develop regarding PT’s weekly newsletters? If yes: what? If no: why not?
Weekly bulletins are, in my opinion, always a very complete record of the association’s activities. For example, issues affecting mobility on campus, such as the coming closure of the underpass in December and its replacement, could be added to the bulletin. However, I would not add much to the bulletins as there is plenty of information anyway. It is important to keep the content brief so that there is not too much information at once!
How important do you see the use of social media as part of the association’s information and visibility? Should the use of some platforms be increased or decreased?
I think social media is a great way to increase the visibility of an association. PT’s Tiktok has been very visible this year in a fun and creative way, and we should continue with it!
Social media also plays an important role in information. Personally, I like to look for information about the association’s activities on social media: photos and videos of events provide a more interactive experience of our activities! And don’t forget the miniweeklies, which are always shared on Instagram.
Information committee has a wide range of officials and there can be found several different units. How would you ensure the share of information and the division of work in your committee? Is there any specific sector of the Information committee that you would like to develop?
I would ensure the flow of information within the committee by clearly announcing upcoming meetings, for example by telegram. Internal communication within the committee could also make use of surveys/polls to ensure that everyone is aware of the activities. A fair division of labor within the committee would be best ensured by recording the tasks of each official.
Ask me if there’s any more you would like to know!! You can also ask by telegram @elzucca
